INVESTMENT ADVISORY

Model portfolios & investment research

Halwyn Capital has worked with a number of professional clients to either provide them with investment portfolio models and advice or to supplement their own internal resources as an experienced independent contributor. This can provide both added depth and resources, as well as enhance credibility with external parties and regulators. Halwyn Capital's clients typically include authorised and regulated advisory firms, investment managers and pension trustees.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Outsourced expertise

The team at Halwyn Capital have experience of working with and developing a variety of different product structures, including master trusts, nominee arrangements and Luxembourg domiciled UCITS funds, in addition to structures in other jurisdictions, such as Jersey, Mauritius and BVI.

Halwyn Capital has a history of working with a variety of different institutions in this space and can provide consultancy support to product development projects of this nature.

 

The company is presently engaged to support Aditum Investment Management in the DIFC with regards to their efforts to setup UAE domiciled funds in response to the recent regulatory ban on the distribution of UCITS funds to UAE retail investors.

Promotion and capital introductions

Halwyn Capital works with a number of fund management firms with regards to providing advice and assistance with their distribution strategies and with others can act in an introductory capacity.

Given our many years experience in both the UK and the UAE we can leverage our connections and network to bring together interested parties across a variety of sectors, introduce relevant persons and provide support and guidance to regulatory enquiries.

​

Philip presently guides and assists several leading international fund management institutions with regards to the registration of their financial products in the UAE with the relevant regulatory authorities.

GOVERNANCE EXPERTISE

Independent Directorships

Philip is also an independent director for two Luxembourg domcilied SICAVs.

​

In this role he brings his years of investment knowledge across asset classes, combined with research and analytical skills, as well as product and distribution expertise to provide independent challenge and governance oversight. In this role a keen attention to detail is most important, along with a willingness to challenge and not simply to accept the status quo. 

​

Philip has also engaged in writing public interest reports, especially with regards to complex subjects, where his expertise can help shed light and understanding. Several of these have subsequently featured in UK national press, such as the Mail on Sunday, Sunday Times and Morningstar (see the News page for more details).
